I bought a set back in the 90's for a hundred. Back in the 70's bought a bunch of 755A's out of a closed hotel. I will not tell you what I sold them all for just say there have been many tearful nights.

I hope I can ease your pain a bit although OT. Went to lunch came back checked the local craigs. JBL speakers small ones 50 a pair large ones 100, bring 2 or 3 people for the big ones. Spoke with the gentlemen, his wife's grandfather was an ex JBL employee and had a pole barn full of over a 100 pairs of speakers. Someone came by with a flat bed truck and bought every pair. He said some were like furniture and were 7 or 8 feet long.

I wonder if he had receipts for all of those speakers or just wandered home with a pair every month or so.

Re: the single most expensive pair of speakers you may ever

And I just don't get it...? I had a pair of 755Es in 1.5 cu ft boxes w/ tweeters crammed into the trunk of my '68 Firebird through the rear shelf and they where great with the Craig tunnel mount 8 track and the 10 wpc power booster, but I didn't think they where anything to write home about. I also used them behind a Radio Shack mini stereo with about 15 wpc. but... WTH? How much are those worth?

Didn't those cabinets house 406s from Altec? I beleive that's what the $300 pair had that we all watched on ebay a few months ago.

Nopers, The wooden finish could be 755 A,B,C or E depending on age. You are confusing with MI cabs, vinyl covered, and 403 not 406.

I wondered if I was 3 off, but I was thinking 409, which is a Chevy...... or an all purpose cleaner.
